Scuba Houston is located at 14609 Kimberley Lane, Houston, Texas 77079. We are in West Houston, south of IH 10 off of Dairy Ashford. Scuba Houston is an SSI Platinum Pro Facility with the focus of making your Houston scuba diving experience safe and fun. We have a full range of services for all ages (youth ages 6-8, 8-12, 13-20, and everyone over 20) and families. We also have programs for disabled divers. Our travel destinations include: Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, Cayman, Australia, Florida Keys, Texas Flower Gardens, Aquarena Springs, Gulf of Mexico Rig Diving, and much more. Our Instructors have the highest ratings in the world, with training under the Scuba Schools International system. We are the largest Scubapro/Uwatec dealer in the southwest, offering a full line of masks, snorkels, fins, wet suits, BC's, regulators, tanks and underwater photography equipment. We offer a full range of scuba instruction classes including the Advanced Diver course, Stress Rescue, Wreck Diving, Underwater Photography, Dry Suit, and Master Diver programs. We have Instructor training programs to teach you to become a dive leader. We have 3 Dive Instructor Trainers, 5 Dive Control Specialist Instructors and 15+ Advanced Open Water Instructors. We need your Help... We need your help with the Submarine Theater at Aquarena Springs. We need surface support as well as divers. You do not need to be a scientific diver to help out. We need to de-weed the theater area and clean it up. Our goal is to make the entire site clean. This is for Rangers, Steel Divers and adult Divers. Classes As a SSI Platinum Pro Facility, we have the opportunity to offer a wide range of programs to meet the needs of all our fellow divers. For the beginner we offer Swim Classes, Snorkeling, Introduction to Scuba, and our newest programs, Scuba Rangers (Confined Scuba for children 8 to 12 years) and Steel Divers for youths between the ages of 13 and 21 (affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America). We also offer Refresher Update classes, for divers that have been in dry dock for too long, providing our divers with a chance to test gear, experience blowing bubbles and scrape off the old barnacles. Once you decide to become an Open Water Diver we provide you with professional training. Become a Club Aquarius member and have Lifetime use of our pool, once you have been certified. Following your certification, we provide a full range of specialty courses and proffessional, continuing education training.

The SSI Diver Diamond represents the foundation for our training philosophy enabling us to train safe and competent divers.. Step One: Proper Knowledge There are certain safety rules that must be learned. With a professional teaching system (a manual, a video, and a study guide), you can study this information on your own. We believe that knowledge is critical, and every diver needs to continue learning about the sport in order to become a safe diver. At Scuba Houston, we focus on getting back to the basics. SSI's Home Study portion of our Level One training is a flexible, state of the art, educational program. We also offer many Continuing Education programs that will expand your diving knowledge. Step Two: Proper Skills You must develop ability with basic scuba skills, such as moving in the water, personal safety and equipment handling. The best way to learn is from a qualified instructors at a professional scuba school. Review and practice reinforces the skills. At Scuba Houston, we have our own indoor heated pool (open water simulator), which allows all of our students to practice and try out new equipment. Our Open Water certification also includes six dives for our new divers which enables them to become more comfortable in the water. Step Three: Proper Equipment The most comfortable, convenient and enjoyable way to dive is with your own set of properly-fitted equipment. Experienced divers recognize the importance of owning their own equipment. Learning to dive in your own equipment is safer and truly enhances the experience. As you become familiar with your equipment, your ability level increases. Scuba Houston is your full service dive center. Since 1960, serious divers have chosen us to teach, outfit and provide worldwide dive travel. We sell only professional quality scuba and snorkel equipment, backed not only by us, but also by the manufacturer. And, be sure to ask your instructor or sales person about our Lifetime Warranties. Servicing your equipment annually maintains your equipment's performance and minimizes malfunctions, which provides peace of mind. If you are getting ready for your next dive trip, or if it has just been awhile since your equipment has been tuned up, bring it in and we will take care of it for you. We have one of the top service and repair shops in the industry, and work on most brands. Step Four: Proper Experience While education helps develop knowledge and skills, the key to becoming a comfortable and confident diver is simply to dive as much as possible. Actual diving develops experience. Your experience increases as you explore different diving locations, meet new friends, have new adventures, and explore new worlds. Our Level Two training provides knowledge and skills from Level One, but adds Limited Visibility/Night Diving and Underwater Navigation Specialty Courses with additional classroom, and optional, pool session hours plus six additional, supervised, Open Water, training dives. This insures that our divers are prepared for most recreational dive situations. After achieving the Level One or Level Two Open Water certification, many divers continue to the Advanced Open Water Level, which includes three additional specialties plus Stress & Rescue and then continue on to our Master Diver Program and often to one of our Dive Leader courses.
